The Freedom To Stop

With my ex-boyfriend, I always felt really connected during sex. One time I didn’t feel any connection, I asked to stop. It wasn’t a big deal and nothing concrete was wrong, but I felt somehow detached from the situation. The ability to say this without it being a big issue was very liberating. In past times, when I had the same feeling, I just kept going but we were already so far in the situation and it wasn’t all that bad. But after calling quits, I felt much better because from that moment on, I knew that we could stop at anytime. This made sex more exciting as well because it meant we were in full enthusiastic consent every given moment.
