Porn Fills The Void

I was raised in Poland – sex education here is horrible and as a teenager, I experienced a lot of issues because of it. Sex in general was, and I think still is a taboo topic in Poland. When I was growing up, I was only taught how to procreate and use a condom, but nothing more. I started to watch porn at a young age because sex was a mystery and I got used to it so much that I didn’t know what actual sex was anymore. The first time I lost my virginity, I was afraid because I thought it should be more like porn, and that if I was not then that meant that I - as a woman - failed to satisfy my partner. It taught me a lesson about how porn can influence a young person and how destructive the lack of sex education is. I think sex as a subject should be dealt like any other subject – with normality and the ability to speak about it out loud. Sex education is very important and it should be in every school, in every country – not only in Poland. Moreover, talking about sex shouldn't be something to be ashamed of. It’s a normal human thing.
